Terms & Conditions

These terms govern access to Chesterfield County Released Inmates. By browsing or using the site, you agree to them. If you do not accept every term, stop using the site.

This privately owned reference site is not affiliated with Chesterfield County, a sheriff, jail, court, corrections department, or government body. Neither the site nor its advertising partners offers credit, employment, insurance, tenant-screening, or other FCRA-covered services. It points visitors toward Chesterfield County and Virginia custody-record resources. It is not a private investigation firm or a consumer reporting agency.

Nature of the Service

The site stores no official jail, inmate, release, or court record. It cannot confirm custody, release a person, file a request, or submit documents to an agency.

Its role is limited to organizing Chesterfield County records resources, official agency contacts, and access to independent research tools.

Acceptable Use Rules

Access is conditioned on lawful, respectful use. You agree that you will not:

  • Use the site to violate any law
  • Stalk, threaten, or harass another person
  • Base hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decisions on site content
  • Attempt access to systems or data without permission
  • Operate bots, scrapers, or automated extraction tools
  • Interfere with access or service for other visitors

No Consumer Reports

This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. It does not provide background checks, credit reports, consumer reports, or screening services, and neither do its advertising partners through this site. You agree not to use information for:

  • Hiring, firing, or other employment decisions
  • Tenant selection or housing screening
  • Creditworthiness, lending, or insurance pricing
  • Licensing, permits, or government-program eligibility
  • Any other decision regulated by the FCRA

Outside Resources

Links may lead to release-record systems, sheriff and corrections pages, public portals, legal-aid resources, or outside search services. A link does not endorse the operator. We are not responsible for the destination's content, data practices, terms, or availability, which you should review separately.

Service Provided As Is

The site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available." No warranty is made about:

  • Accuracy, completeness, or currency
  • Continuous or uninterrupted access
  • Freedom from errors, defects, or security flaws
  • The scope or quality of partner search results

Custody and public-record data can change quickly. Nothing published here is an official statement by a sheriff, corrections department, court, or other government agency.

Liability Is Limited

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the site and its owners, operators, and partners are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive loss arising from access, inability to access, reliance on content, or use of an outside link.

Your Duty to Indemnify

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold the site and its owners, operators, and partners harmless from claims, losses, liabilities, and reasonable legal fees caused by your use of the site or breach of these terms.

Ownership of Site Materials

Site text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Chesterfield County Released Inmates or its content partners, except where another owner is identified. You may not copy, distribute, republish, or modify protected material without written permission.

Revisions Take Effect When Posted

These terms may be changed at any time. A revised version becomes effective when posted, and continued use after posting signifies acceptance.

Access May Be Revoked

We may restrict, suspend, or end access at any time, for any reason, and without advance notice.

Virginia Law Governs

These terms are governed by Virginia law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute must be brought in a court with jurisdiction in Virginia.

Terms Remain Severable

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in force. The affected provision will be limited or adjusted only as much as needed to make it enforceable.
