Official Chesterfield Contacts

The Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office is the constitutional-office route for a local adult booking or release-record request. Its administrative office is at 9500 Courthouse Road, P.O. Box 940, Chesterfield, VA 23832-0001, and the phone number is 804-748-1261. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For a current jail event, call Chesterfield County Jail at 804-748-1476 or Bond and Release at 804-318-8026.

For a Virginia state-custody release artifact, contact the VADOC records office at FOIA@vadoc.virginia.gov or 804-963-2953, P.O. Box 26963, Richmond, VA 23261. Direct a narrow request to the facility unit manager, superintendent, or probation and parole district chief that maintains the record when known.

Choose the contact that matches the record or custody system:

  • For a released person or a lasting release record, use the home search and records path, then submit the request to the responsible custodian.
  • For state parole or probation, contact VADOC District 27 at 6910 Courthouse Road, 804-796-4225; the parole and probation page distinguishes that office from local supervision.
  • For a release believed to have happened today, use the official fallbacks on the 24-hour release page; Chesterfield publishes no named recent-release feed.
  • For an anticipated state date or an alert, compare the projected release date process with the VINELink check.
  • For a specific jail, regional jail, state unit, CCAP, or juvenile facility, use the correct facility page listed below.
  • For a sentenced Virginia prisoner, use the official VADOC Inmate and Supervisee Locator or contact VADOC at 804-674-3000 for general routing.
  • For federal or immigration custody, use the official BOP or ICE locator because neither Chesterfield County nor VADOC controls those records.
